We recently received an email from one of our referral partners, the Mayster Group, about an EIDL Debt Forgiveness scam going around.
There is no EIDL Debt Forgiveness program.
This is being perpetuated with cold emails from answersdesk.sba,gov@usa.com. Please note that this is a fraudulent email address. The SBA’s emails always end with @sba.gov. There should never be a .com in an email from any government entity.
Furthermore, you should be aware that the IRS, the Treasury Department, the Social Security Administration, or FinCEN will NEVER call you. You will receive letters in the mail and will be able to verify the phone numbers to call.
I’ve had a scammer call me to tell me my social security number was “revoked” or “canceled.” Social security numbers do not get canceled or revoked.
Please be aware and protect yourself.
