There is an old saying that “you can’t manage what you don’t measure.”  That goes for all aspects of life and business!

If you want to lose weight, you need to weigh yourself and measure your food and exercise. Simply measuring your benchmarks will give you the information you need to meet your health goals.  When I was in bodybuilding, I tracked all kinds of measurements, from macronutrients to waist, arm, and hip circumference to exactly what I ate when, how much, and how I felt emotionally as I ate.  And my body improved.

If  you want to improve the profitability of your business, you need to know certain numbers. It might be revenues, or profits.  It might be variable costs, profit margins, or cash flows – all of which are critically important. If you pay attention to the numbers you want improved, you’ll improve them.

It’s interesting to see how simply practicing gratitude can change your life.  When you focus on the things you want, you’ll get more of the things you want.  If you focus on what you don’t want, you’ll get more of that.

Want to improve your relationships?  Focus on the things you’re thankful for.

Want to improve your finances?  See where you are, and where you want to be, and focus on that.

It works.
